Alert: Guidance for Manufacturing to reopen in California

May 11, 2020 4:45 pm Published by Comments Off on Alert: Guidance for Manufacturing to reopen in California

Guidance for Manufacturing to re-open in California

Good evening: Members, supporters, business partners and all supply chain professionals. We would like to share the below information from CMTA (California Manufacturers & Technology Association)

From: Lance Hastings, CMTA President

Governor Newsom announced industry-specific guidelines to begin the re-opening of the California economy beginning May 8, 2020. The sectors included in this second stage and modifications of California’s Stay-at-home order are:

  • Manufacturing
  • Agriculture and livestock
  • Auto-dealerships
  • Communications infrastructure
  • Construction
  • Delivery services
  • Energy and utilities
  • Food packing
  • Hotels and lodging
  • Life sciences
  • Logistics and Warehousing facilities
  • Mining and logging
  • Office workspaces
  • Ports
  • Public Transit and Intercity Passenger Rail
  • Real estate transaction
  • Retail

Attached are the guidelines that apply to the manufacturing sector. CMTA was invited to provide input as these guidelines were being developed, and we feel confident that our advanced PPE usage as standard operating procedures will be a key enabler for our sector to rebound from the challenges of the past two months. In fact, since mid-March, essential manufacturers throughout the state embraced enhanced social/physical distancing and hygiene practices across all processes and personnel.

Please note the guidelines affecting staggering employee congregation during break times and/or break rooms may require the most adaptive requirements. Most manufacturers already have rigorous safety programs in place, and site-specific plans should require limited adaptation.

If you have any questions or reactions to these guidelines, please contact lhastings@cmta.net

Thank you and to not hesitate to reach out to us if you need additional information. We have a team of Trusted Advisors who can help you navigate thru these unprecedented times.
